The total solutions company
Dixon was incorporated in 1966. Our initial focus on communications network construction - for example, we introduced the first direct-buried cable-plowing machines to B.C. - has since grown to include total solutions to the industry's cable installation needs.
Today we provide the highest level of engineering, construction, project management and general support services to our clients.
Our turnkey services include:
- Telecommunications consulting and engineering, including design and installation of ATM, SONET and Point-to-Point equipment and wiring.
- All aspects of communications construction, including aerial and underground installations, remote site servicing and fibre optic cable link systems.
- Design and construction of aerial conduit links, as required for bridge and trestle crossings. We've built 200 to date.
- Direct buried installation of coaxial, copper and fibre optic cables.
- State-of-the-art fibre optic cable splicing, testing and trouble analysis.
- Underwater and trenchless installations, and cable placement in harsh and remote environments.
- Maintenance of networks, both high-density urban and cross-country long haul.
- Complete system monitoring, including emergency restorations and comprehensive network record-keeping.
We also combine our design, construction and project management resources for civil, municipal, provincial and federal approval processing, and for negotiations of rights-of-way (ROWs), easements and Municipal Access Agreements.
